I am ecstatic to have received the Jon H. Poteat National Vocational Technical Honor Society scholarship. The nursing program at Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton has had a very positive influence on me. Winning the scholarship has given me the confidence I need to be successful and secure my future.
I have attended college in the past but nothing seemed to fit my personality. I thought I would never find the right path to take until I started working with developmentally challenged individuals. By having the honor of taking care of such wonderful people, I realized that nursing was the perfect choice. I have been blessed with supportive, loving parents and a dear friend who graduated from this program. I look forward to the challenges ahead of me and I feel secure in stating that I will be able to meet them.
