Roberta Bowers has served as Assistant Director since 1997. She has been a part of the Tennessee Technology Center team since 1989 with the exception of six months. During the six month term, she served as Director of Financial Aid at Northeast State Community College.
Starting in the financial aid office at East Tennessee State University in 1980, Ms. Bowers moved to the Technology Center in 1989. After completing her Associate of Applied Science and her Bachelor of Science both in 1996, she moved up within the organization as Technology Foundations Instructor and then Counselor. In 2000, she completed her Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Adult Education at East Tennessee State University.
Ms. Bowers is Assistant Director, RODP contact, and ACT Center Director at the Technology Center. She organized the chapter of the National Vocational-Technical Honor Society and served as an advisor for many years. A member of Phi Theta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi, Ms. Bowers is a graduate of the Carter County Leadership and the Tennessee Technology Centers Leadership Program. An active member of the Chamber of Commerce, she has served as Chairperson for Kids' Island during the Annual Covered Bridge Celebration. As a volunteer with the Make-A-Wish East Tennessee Chapter, she has served on many teams assisting children with life-threatening illnesses to fulfill their dreams.
