Lisa Miller
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. – Lisa Miller of Elizabethton has been named instructor of Business Systems Technology (BST) at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton, according to Dean Blevins, director. She succeeds Wanda Jones who retired.
Miller returns to the school where her accounting training began. In1986, she received an Accounting Clerk Certificate from the State Area Vocational Technical School in Elizabethton, the forerunner of TTC-Elizabethton. She is a graduate of Northeast State Community College, where she received an Associate Degree with a concentration in accounting, and Milligan College, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
Prior to joining TTC-Elizabethton, she was a Human Resource generalist with the City of Bristol, Tennessee and Elizabethton Newspapers, Inc. She has also worked in accounting at Elizabethton Newspapers, Avery Healthcare System in Linville, N.C., Roan Highlands Nursing Center in Roan Mountain and served as admissions coordinator at Life Care Center in Elizabethton.
Blevins said Miller brings 22 years of accounting and human resources experience to the position. She was recommended by a search committee who considered a list of candidates who applied for the position.
BST is a 12-month training program designed to prepare graduates for employment in the areas of General Office, Information Processing Support, Administrative Assistant, Accounting Assistant, Medical Coding, Medical Administrative Assistant and Legal Assistant. Students must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. to enroll in the program.
