Academic Scholarships

Academic scholarships are available. For more information, contact the Office of Student Services.

Grants

Federal Pell Grant - A student grant that does not have to be repaid as long as the recipient maintains satisfactory attendance and academic progress.

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) - A supplemental student grant based on financial need that does not have to be repaid.

Tennessee Student Assistance Award (TSAA) - A student grant that does not have to be repaid.

Tennessee Lottery - Also known as the Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant, this is a $2,000 per year grant for students attending the Tennessee Technology Center.

Work Study

Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) - Provides part-time employment at the Tennessee Technology Center at an hourly rate for eligible students.

Interagency Funds

Veterans Administration Programs - Financial assistance for veterans who qualify.

Tennessee Opportunity Program for Seasonal Farm Workers (TOPS) - Training for seasonal farm workers who meet certain criteria.

Vocational Rehabilitation Act - Training for students with disabilities sponsored by Vocational Rehabilitation Services of the Tennessee Department of Human Services.

Workforce Investment Act (WIA) - Retraining for displaced workers.

Trade Readjustment Act (TRA) - Retraining for unemployed workers due to plant closures.

Information regarding any of these programs may be obtained in the Student Services Department at the Main Campus.

Application Process

To apply for any of the Federal Student Aid programs, an individual must complete the "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA) and obtain a valid "Student Aid Report" (SAR). The FAFSA application is on Web site www.fafsa.ed.gov. The school code for the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton is 005281 and must be listed on page six of the application.

FAFSA applications may also be obtained in the Financial Aid Office at the Main Campus. The Financial Aid Coordinator offers assistance in completing the application for those who plan on attending the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton.

All the applicants must bring the completed application form and income information to the Financial Aid Office. This will include:

  1. Your latest income tax return and/or your parent's income tax return if you are considered a dependent student. (Refer to questions 48-54 on the application).
  2. All other untaxed income, such as Social Security benefits, AFDC benefits and child support received.
  3. A copy of your high school diploma or GED.
