The Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton has been reaching new heights in economic impact, student job placement, state licensure and enrollment.

Speaking to members of the Elizabethton–Carter County Chamber of Commerce recently, Jerry Patton, director, said the total economic impact of TTC–Elizabethton in the region is more than $11 million.

According to Patton, TTC–Elizabethton is generating $5.76 for every dollar spent in operating the facility, based a study conducted by Tennessee State University several years ago.

"The student job placement rate in all programs at TTC-Elizabethton is 95 percent and the licensure rate for graduates of the Practical Nursing Program is 99 percent. TTC-Elizabethton has the largest LPN training program in Tennessee," Patton said.

A record 52 students are currently enrolled in the online Dietary Manager Training Program. Since 2003, when the online program was first offered by TTC–Elizabethton, more than 212 individuals from 130 cities and towns in 28 states have been trained for employment as Certified Dietary Managers.

Patton said a night welding class has recently been added to the day program to train additional welders for existing jobs in the region. "We are proud of the accomplishments of our faculty and graduates and look forward to reaching even greater heights if we can expand existing training facilities," Patton said.
