NTHS Induction
Twelve students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton recently.
They are Tammy Laws, Evelyn Chesser and Amy Case from Carter county; Lisa Stout, Phyllis Isaacs and Michael Parlier from Johnson county; Frieda Shaffer and Tara Mitchell from Sullivan county; Judy Tilson of Unicoi county; and Megan Shelton, Lisa Ford and Mary Blender from Washington county.
Membership in NTHS is limited to students with a 95 overall grade point average, no attendance policy violations, who are nominated by a faculty member. Faculty advisors are Sandy Barker, Patricia Henderson and Wanda Jones.
New Diesel Powered Equipment Instructor![]() |
John Lee came to the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton from Carl Gregory Inc., Johnson City, where he worked as diesel technician. He has 11 years experience in diesel technology and is a graduate of Wise County Vocational Technical School , Wise, Va. , and Auto-Diesel College , Nashville, Tennessee. He is a Certified Ford and Chrysler Diesel Technician with an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Masters' Certificate. He has also worked as an assistant service manager and service consultant at Tri-Cities Nissan in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Twelve Carter County high school students graduated from the Nurse Aide Training Program at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton on June 25 after completing 135 hours of training after regular school hours. They are, front row, from left, Sara Goodwin, Morgan McLaughlin, Rachel Fearns, Whitney Thomas, Brittany Thomas and Wendy Wright, LPN, instructor; back row, from left, are Elizabeth Lyle, Daniel Estep, Katie Lyons, Ashley Price, Amber Clawson and Mindy Hill. The Runway After School Program was financed with unclaimed Tennessee lottery funds. The training program prepares students for the state exam to become a Certified Nurse Aide and provides necessary skills for job opportunities in a health care facility.
