Nurse Aide Training

The 135-hours of training covers state regulations mandated by the Tennessee Department of Health and Environment. The course prepares students for the state exam to become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and employment in a health care facility. No high school diploma or GED is required to enroll in the course.

Outstanding Millwright Skills Graduate

Ronnie White, Millwright Skills instructor at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton, pictured on the right, presents Kenny Stout of Carter County a precision level donated by Voelzow & Company of Wingate, N.C. The precision level, used in millwright work, is donated each year to an outstanding graduate at TTC-Elizabethton, selected by his peers, who is entering the workforce.

Sixteen students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton recently.

By county, they are: Carter-Christina Alexander, Kristi Bowling, Bethany Dugger, Jamie Farmer, Amanda Litz, Christy Smith, and Linda Trott. Johnson-Cindy Brown and Amanda McCloud. Sullivan-Vera Dinsmore. Unicoi-Ashley Wilson. Washington-Katherine Joy Gunning, Anna Libby Lewis, Melissa Moa, Tony Whiting and Natasha Winborn.

Membership in NTHS is limited to students with a 95 overall grade point average, no attendance policy violations, who are nominated by a faculty member. Faculty advisors are Sandy Barker, Patricia Henderson and Wanda Jones.
