NTHS Officers

Twenty students at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society, recently.

They are Misty Brooks, Jewel R. Davis, Matt Davis, Loretta Frazier, James Helton, Amanda Johnson, Cindy Johnson, Ashley Sparks, Drucilla Whitaker and Rachel Witt, all of Washington County; Kathleen VanFassen of Unicoi County; Heather Greene, Helen Horn, Wilma Johnson, Kristin McCloud and Melanie Patrick, all of Johnson County; Janet Cole of Sullivan County; Kenneth Stout of Carter County; Jacqueline Reeves of Hawkins County; and William Caterson of Newland, N.C.

Membership in NTHS is limited to students with a 95 overall grade point average, no attendance policy violations, who are nominated by a faculty member. Faculty advisors are Sandy Barker, Patricia Henderson and Wanda Jones.

Recent CNA Graduates

Nurse Aide Training — Pictured are the Oct. 8 graduates of the Nurse Aide Training Program at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton.They are, front row, from left, Kristina Young, Washington County; Melanie Estep, Megan Letterman, Sara Lerma-avila and Jamie Banner, all Carter County; back row, from left, Barbara Benfield, instructor, Joan Moore, Jeannette Barnett, Dustin Perry, Kayla Grindstaff, Lisa Johnson and Denise Turbyfill, all Carter County. The 135 hours of training covers state regulations mandated by the Tennessee Department of Health and Environment. The course prepares students for the state exam to become a Certified Nurse Aide and provides necessary skills for job opportunities in a health care facility. No high school diploma or G.E.D. is required to enroll in the course.
