Anne Franklin, RN, director of nursing at NHC Health Care Center in Bristol, pictured at right, presented a $2,500 donation from The Foundation for Geriatric Education to representatives of the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton, from left, Michelle Good, nursing instructor, Jerry Patton, director, and Penny Carrico, nursing instructor, to expand the video library on geriatric health care for students enrolled in the Practical Nursing program at ETSU at Bristol. According to TFGE, more than 36 million people age 65 and over accounted for more than 12 percent of the total U.S. population in 2003. That number is expected to swell to 87 million by 2050.
