Student Appreciation Day

Little Max Chili was the staple of the day at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton on Oct. 29 as students competed in costume and chili contests as part of Student Appreciation Day.

Abby Brace, holding her son Max, and Stacey Honeycutt, from Elizabethton, were among participants in the costume contest.

Costume Costume contest winners were, pictured from left, Teresa Epperly of Elizabethton, student in the Business Systems Technology class in Elizabethton, took first place; Julie Carpenter of Mountain City, student in the BST class in Mountain City, second place; and Vicky Osborne of Bristol, student in the LPN class in Bluff City, third place. Dean Blevins, director of TTC-Elizabethton, presented the awards.

Chili Winners Chili contest winners were, pictured from left, Tammy Harris of Bristol, representing the LPN class in Bluff City, first place; Missy Moorefield of Mountain City, representing the BST class in Mountain City, second place; and Lucas Ibsen of Telford, representing the Welding day class, third place. Dean Blevins, director of TTC-Elizabethton, is also pictured.

Door prizes were donated by Applebees Neighborhood Grill and Bar, Best Uniforms, Big John's Closeouts, Hampton's Copper Kettle, Dick's Sporting Goods, Dino's Restaurant, Domino's Pizza, Elizabethton Lumber & Building Material, Family Dollar Store, Johnson City Mall, Missy Hammond, Red Pig Bar-B-Q, Ridgewood Barbecue Restaurant, Shield's Electronics, Shirley's Restaurant, Sonic Restaurant, Stoney's Pizza and Summers Hardware & Supply.
