The Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton has a record enrollment for the summer term that began July 11. There are 401 students enrolled, including 157 in Practical Nursing, 17 in Certified Nurse Aid training and 35 in online Dietary Manager Training programs.

Jerry Patton, director, said he was pleased with the enrollment increase, especially in the health care field, during the summer months when enrollment normally declines.

“We strive to have a quality training program and we are always open to suggestions for improvements from employers and students. We consult with representatives of the health care community, frequently, to ensure we provide a quality nursing program,” Patton said.

TTC-Elizabethton admits an average of 370 students to the Practical Nursing Program each year, making it one of the largest in the state in terms of number of students enrolled. The TTC nursing program prepares graduates to take the State Board of Nursing exam to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.

In addition to Nursing, the technology center offers 12 to 18 month training programs in Automotive, Business Systems, Computer Operations, Diesel Powered Equipment, Electricity/Electronics, HVAC/Refrigeration, Millwright Skills and Welding.

TTC-Elizabethton is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents and accredited by the Council on Occupational Education. For additional information, visit the main campus, located at 426 Highway 91 in Elizabethton, telephone 423-543-0070.
