Another 45 Practical Nurses Scheduled to Graduate

Practical nursing students at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton, pictured in the simulation lab at the ETSU James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, work as a team to diagnose a health problem programmed into a mannequin. A total of 141 students will graduate from the 12-month Practical Nursing training program at TTC-Elizabethton in 2010. Currently, graduates have a 94 percent passage rate on the Tennessee Board of Nursing exam to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and a 91 percent job placement rate.


Intense classroom and clinical training are about to pay dividends for 45 students at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton when they graduate on Dec. 17 from Practical Nursing classes offered in Elizabethton and Kingsport. The Alliance for Business and Training sponsored the training for 18 of the graduates.

“TTC-Elizabethton is grateful to AB&T for their financial support which allowed these students to receive the necessary training to enter the workforce as a practical nurse. We congratulate each of them on reaching this important milestone in the pursuit of their education and career goals,” said Dean Blevins, director of TTC-Elizabethton.
