The Automotive Technology Training Program at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton was evaluated, recently, against standards developed by the automotive industry required for accreditation by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) during an onsite team visit by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation. Team members, pictured from left, are Tony Southern of Alleghany, N.C., team leader; Buddy Collins, Commercial Sales Manager of AutoZone, Elizabethton; Eddie Guinn of T & E Wrecker & Repair Service, Hampton; and John Miller, automobile technician at Grindstaff Chevrolet, Elizabethton. Students at TTC–Elizabethton receive Certificate Awards after completing three weeks to four months of study in various automotive categories and an Automotive Technician Diploma after 20 months of study. The program prepares graduates for ASE certification.
