Wilmetta Collie, LPN representative on the Tennessee Board of Nursing, told the 50 graduates of the Practical Nursing Program at Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton Thursday evening "to be proud you are a nurse and do everything to the best of your ability."
Some 500 family members and friends attended the pinning and capping ceremony held at First Baptist Church in Elizabethton. Graduates recognized for the highest grade point average were Tracey Breeding and Jane Morton of Bristol, Diane Moore of Piney Flats and Laura Riddle of Johnson City and Tammy Ferguson of Jonesboro. Ms. Ferguson also received a "perfect attendance" award, along with Kay Stanley of Mountain City and Randi Tester of Elizabethton.
