Online courses in Dementia Care, Dosage Calculations for Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurse Refresher, Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Coding and Health Information Technicial and Medical Technician are offered by the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton through the Tennessee Board of Regents Online Degree Programs (RODP). Dietary Manager is an eight-month online course designed to prepare individuals for employment as Dietary Managers, who work with Registered Dietitians to provide quality nutritional care for patients and residents of hospitals, nursing homes, extended care facilities, large childcare centers, correctional and rehabilitative centers, food service distributors and school systems. Approved by the Dietary Manager Association, the program consists of 714 web-based hours and 150 hours of field experience in the student's hometown. Dietary Aide is a four-month online course designed to meet the educational needs of individuals seeking employment in the food service industry. Dietary Aides work with Dietary Managers and Registered Dietitians to provide quality nutritional care in a variety of settings. The program reviews customers, customer service, service and delivery systems, menus, recipes, receiving, storage, sanitation and safety and layout and design. Consisting of 432 web-based training hours, the program is designed for easy transfer into the online Dietary Manager Program. Students must be at least 18 to enroll. More Information. (PDF – 271kb)
Health Care Terminology is a 60-hour online course designed to provide an easy, efficient and practical way to learn health care terminology. The course contains a variety of learning tools, including interactive exercises, pre-test and final examinations, audio pronunciation glossary, an image bank and other tools to enhance the student's health care terminology learning experience. Nurse Aide is a 23-day training program designed to provide the basic training for a nursing assistant to function in a nursing home or health care facility, improve the quality of care and to increase the positive perception of the nursing aide. The program prepares students for the State examination to become a Certified Nurse Aide. More Information.
Practical Nursing is a 12-month program during the day and 18-month program in the evening, subject to sufficient enrollment, designed to meet the educational needs for members of the nursing team employed in hospitals, nursing homes and by home health care agencies.More Information.
