LPN ScholarshipsPractical Nursing Program Scholarship Recipients – Heather Brown and Maggie White, 2007 graduates at Cloudland and Hampton High Schools, respectively, were presented scholarships to the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton for the Practical Nursing Program. The two had the highest grade point average among 18 Carter County high school students who recently completed CNA training after regular school hours. TTC-Elizabethton has one of the largest LPN training programs in the state.

Nurse Aide Training Graduates May 8Nurse Aide Training graduates of May 8, 2007 – Eighteen Carter County high school students graduated from the Nurse Aide Training Program at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton on May 8 after attending CNA classes after regular school hours as part of the "Runway After School Program" financed by unclaimed Tennessee lottery funds. TTC-Elizabethton prepares graduates for the state exam to become Certified Nurse Aides.

Thirty-eight students inducted into Honor SocietyThirty-eight students inducted into Honor SocietyThe National Vocational Technical Honor Society at Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton inducted 38 new members in ceremonies held Feb. 13.
Membership is limited to students with a 95 overall grade point average, no attendance policy violations, who are nominated by a faculty member. Read More...



SkillsUSA officers elected at TTC-ElizabethtonSkillsUSA officers elected at TTC-Elizabethton – SkillsUSA officers for 2007 have been elected at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working to ensure a skilled work force in trade, industrial, technical and health occupations. In 2006, TTC-Elizabethton students won gold medals in Technical Computer Applications, Computer Maintenance Technology and Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration in statewide competition sponsored by SkillsUSA.

Halloween costume contest winnersHalloween costume contest winners – Danita Clark, in witch costume, and Stephanie McNutt, in costume as Dorothy, took third place, while Amanda Hollfield, in the nursing uniform, took second place in the Halloween costume contest at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton. The three are enrolled in the Practical Nursing program.

Winners, Halloween costume contest and chilli contestWinners, Halloween costume contest and chilli contest – Barbara Leon, student in the Business Systems Technology program in Mountain City dressed as a witch, took first place in the Halloween costume contest at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton. The winner of the chilli contest was the Practical Nursing class in Kingsport, represented by Kimberly Head. The Practical Nursing class at the Herman Robinson Campus on Arney Street and the Business Systems Technology class in Mountain City took second and third place, respectively in the chilli contest.

2006 Graduation Celebrations – 2006 Nursing Graduates held a "victory luncheon" on Sept. 26, 2006 to celebrate completion of the Practical Nursing Program at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton. A record 133 graduates of the Practical Nurse Program were in the 2006 Graduation Class.

Make a Wish Yard Sale – The National Technical Honor Society held a yard sale, August 19 and 20, at the Main Campus, 426 Highway 91 to benefit Make A Wish of East Tennessee. The proceeds of the sale will be used to fulfill Jessica's wish to visit Disney World, Orlando, Florida this fall.
