Thirty-eight students inducted into Honor Society

The National Vocational Technical Honor Society at Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton inducted 38 new members in ceremonies held Feb. 13.

Membership is limited to students with a 95 overall grade point average, no attendance policy violations, who are nominated by a faculty member.

By county, new inductees are:

Carter: Rhiannon Brown, Raabe Harrison, Carol Hershey, Lisa Holden, Lisa Lanthorn, Rebecca Lunsford, Sarah Moffitt, Kelli Montgomery, Jennifer Whitehead and Donald Yates.

Johnson: Deborah Hughes, Miriam Humphrey, Nehemiah Palmer, Sonya Pennington, Melissa Robinson and Alissa Winter.

Sullivan: Pamela Lewis, Tina Royston and Jennifer Scott.

Unicoi: Crystal Higgins, Amanda Hollifield, Tracy Lewis, Angela Mahala, Melissa McInturff and Kristie Pate.

Washington: Heather Barnett, Melissa Berry, Alison Crowe, Jason Fagan, Sarah Gunnin, Jessica Hopper, Jennifer Hughes, Sabrina Petty, Felicia Tice, Marina True and Rebecca Williams.

Bristol, Va.: Robert Reynolds and Ellen Walston.

Officers are Rhiannon Brown, president; Crystal Higgins, vice president; Kelli Montgomery, secretary; Jennifer Whitehead, treasurer; and Michelle Johnson, historian. Faculty advisors are Sandy Barker, Patricia Henderson and Wanda Jones.

Among community service programs, honor society members provided Christmas gifts to 38 children and valentines to local nursing home residents, and held a yard sale to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
