Students are eligible for membership in the National Vocational Technical Honor Society if they have a 95 grade point average, do not have any attendance policy violations, and are recommended by a member of the faculty.
The Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton received its National Vocational Technical Honor Society charter in July 1999. It is among 1,500 member schools and colleges with more than 30,000 students enrolled in vocational and technical education admitted each year.
Honor society members have earned an excellent scholastic record and consistently demonstrated critical workplace values: honesty, responsibility, technical skill, teamwork, loyalty, initiative, leadership and good citizenship.
The Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton has also formed a Skills USA Chapter with the enrollment of students in HVAC, Computer Operations Technology, and Welding. SkillsUSA prepares America's high performance workers. It provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. It emphasizes total quality at work, high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education and pride in the dignity of work. SkillsUSA also promotes understanding of the free enterprise system and involvement in community service activities.
