The Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton has an online assessment to help students determine the best career path for them. The Kuder ® Career Planning System is available free of charge and is an excellent tool for lifelong career planning. Click here to find out more.
Special Programs and Services
Career Activities
Every year TTC-Elizabethton sponsors Career Activities for high school and junior high school students to introduce the students to careers in nursing and technology. Among the activities this year were Be a Nurse and Call the Shots, Technology Teens in Career Explorations, and Techprep Grant Provides Seniors With Hands-On Nursing Experience. Dual Enrollment
Through a cooperative agreement with the Carter County School system, students enrolled in high school during their junior and senior years can attend TTC-Elizabethton for half a day and half a day at the high school. The students receive their high school credit and credit at the Technology Center.
Enrollment at TTC-Elizabethton is contingent upon available space in the desired program. There is a packet for Dual Enrollment and all forms must be signed by high school principal, parent and student. The packet can be requested from Mike Cole, Student Services Coordinator.
Upon full-time enrollment at TTC-Elizabethton, students receive full credit for their Dual Enrollment period and possible TechPrep credit for high school courses. The length of the program and enrollment at TTC-Elizabethton is adjusted by the credits students receive. For more information, contact Mike Cole, 423/543-0070.
Dual Enrollment Grants Policies and Procedures The Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant program is funded by the Tennessee Lottery and administered by the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation. It is designed to provide financial assistance to qualified high school students in pursuit of postsecondary study at an eligible Tennessee public or private institution while receiving dual high school and college credit from successfully completed courses. Credit Recovery
Students lacking required credits to graduate from high school may attend TTC-Elizabethton's Credit Recovery program. Depending upon the credits needed, students enroll in the Technology Foundations lab and utilize the PLATO system to complete the credits needed to graduate.

2008 GED Testing Schedule
Candidates are required to attend a County Adult Ed Center. Testing is given in a two-day session, from 7:45 a.m. to noon, at the Tennessee Technology Center main campus, 426 Highway 91, Elizabethton.

High School Tours
We welcome the opportunity to share the many services available at TTC-Elizabethton. High School tours are organized for students to visit the school, classrooms, and labs. Many times, demonstrations are provided by our students. TTC-Elizabethton Ambassadors are always willing to assist the Student Services Coordinator in conducting tours. Mentoring and Shadowing
High school students are invited to attend any of the programs available at TTC-Elizabethton to mentor or shadow one of our currently enrolled students. The students may visit a program, participate in the classroom, and view projects in the lab. Students are not allowed to work on projects. Half-a-day sessions or a regular school day session are available.
Paperwork and approval must be prepared by the student, parent and high school counselor/principal before the student is approved for mentoring or shadowing. For more information, contact Mike Cole, Student Services Coordinator, 423/543-0070.
